Senior Property Accountant
A vertically integrated real estate investment and development firm is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to support a growing portfolio of commercial and mixed-use assets. This individual will work closely with asset management, property management, and leadership teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Manage full-cycle property accounting for a portfolio of commercial and mixed-use assets
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Perform month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
- Maintain general ledger and ensure accuracy of all financial data
- Prepare CAM reconciliations, tenant billings, and rent rolls
- Analyze variances and provide insights to asset management and leadership
- Coordinate with property management teams on budgets, forecasts, and reporting
- Assist with annual budgeting and reforecasting processes
- Support audit and tax processes, including preparation of workpapers
- Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
Qualifications:
- 5-10 years of commercial property accounting experience
- Yardi proficiency required
- Retail and/or mixed-use experience preferred
- Strong understanding of GAAP and real estate accounting
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong attention to detail and organized
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment
