Senior Property Accountant
Rapidly growing multifamily & affordable housing developer is seeking a Senior Property Accountant to join its team. This role will oversee financial reporting for a portfolio of properties and review work performed by Staff Accountants.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee monthly and annual financial reporting for assigned property portfolio
- Review Staff Accountant work and provide training/support as needed
- Prepare monthly reporting packages, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance
- Coordinate with Property Management teams to ensure accurate financial close
- Manage audit preparation and communication with external auditors
- Support loan conversions, capital contribution requests, and surplus cash calculations
- Assist with corporate, treasury, and other ad hoc accounting projects
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of property accounting experience; LIHTC and/or HUD experience a plus
- CPA a plus
- Experience with MRI, Yardi, RealPage, Sage 300, or similar systems
- Strong Excel skills
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
