Job Description
The Family Office Senior Corporate Accountant performs general accounting functions in the Family Office.
Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly accounting close for complex entities within the organization
- Record journal entries related to the organizations' activities including income and expense accruals as necessary
- Prepare timely and accurate monthly financial statements for various entities
- Prepare book and wire transfer requests as required
- Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of various balance sheet accounts
- Assist Consolidations Manager with monthly consolidation and eliminations process
- Assist in the quarterly production of the Board Report and year-end financial statements for audit.
- Prepare weekly investment reports for investment entities and trusts
- Prepare monthly consolidated and individual investment reports that require extensive formatting in Excel
- Prepare variance analysis reports and ad hoc schedules, as required
- Review work of Staff Accountant as required
- Act as back-up for the Staff Accountant as necessary
- Provide timely and effective communications to management
- Exercise discretion and consistent independent judgment in fulfilling accounting responsibilities
- Identify and propose solutions and improvements to reports, workflows or other accounting processes or procedures based on experience and a broad understanding of the organization
- Draft and maintain thorough and detailed procedures for daily work processes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
- 3+ years of investment accounting experience
- Public accounting and/or family office experience is a plus
- Proficiency in Excel
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Detail-oriented and organized
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work both independently and as a team
