Senior Associate, Retail Leasing
We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Associate, Retail Leasing to join our dynamic team. This role involves executing strategic leasing plans, cultivating national and regional tenant relationships, and contributing to mixed-use development and redevelopment projects. The ideal candidate has a strong background in retail leasing, a pulse on current market trends, and the ability to negotiate and close deals that enhance property performance.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and secure a mix of retail tenants including restaurants, quick-service concepts, lifestyle, wellness, and service-based brands that align with the overall merchandising vision.
- Leverage existing retailer relationships to drive leasing activity and meet property-level leasing goals.
- Conduct in-depth analysis of retailer strategies, consumer behavior, and market trends to inform leasing strategy.
- Develop and execute merchandising plans that drive traffic, improve tenant mix, and maximize property revenue.
- Negotiate letters of intent and lease agreements through deal execution and tenant openings.
- Partner cross-functionally with development, construction, legal, and asset management teams throughout the leasing process.
- Provide market and competitive insights to inform leasing strategies for redevelopment and repositioning efforts.
- Maintain accurate records, prepare deal packages, and present regular updates to internal stakeholders.
- Stay active in the market by touring properties, meeting with prospective tenants, and maintaining broker relationships.
- Manage renewals, amendments, and strategic re-tenanting opportunities across the portfolio.
Qualifications:
- 5–7 years of experience in retail leasing, preferably with urban street retail or mixed-use properties.
- Proven track record of completed leasing transactions; ability to provide a detailed deal sheet.
- Strong relationships with regional and national retailers.
- Deep understanding of lease terms, merchandising principles, and tenant negotiations.
- Excellent communication, sales, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and leasing CRM tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Business, or a related field.
