Position Overview
Our client is seeking a Real Estate Accountant to support financial reporting, property accounting, and accounting operations across a diverse real estate portfolio. This role offers exposure to investment, development, construction, multifamily, commercial, and mixed-use real estate assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Perform account reconciliations and support month-end and year-end close processes.
- Maintain accounting records for multiple entities and properties.
- Analyze property performance, rental income, operating expenses, and capital expenditures.
- Assist with acquisitions, dispositions, refinancing transactions, and lender reporting.
- Track construction costs, project budgets, and job cost accounting.
- Support cash management, cash flow forecasting, and treasury activities.
- Prepare management reports, budget-to-actual analyses, and financial reporting packages.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate, property management, construction, or development.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and real estate accounting principles.
- Experience with financial reporting, multi-entity accounting, and account reconciliations.
- Construction accounting, partnership accounting, or investor reporting experience is a plus.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required.
- CPA preferred but not required.
