Property Accounting Manager
The Property Accounting Manager handles oversight of financial transactions and reporting within Yardi, troubleshooting, and works independently on special projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and monitor account analysis, operating expenses, and reconciliations
  • Prepare preview statements and distribute to bookkeeping to ensure accuracy of recurring charges and past due charges
  • Calculate and record depreciation and amortization of fixed assets
  • Prepare journal entries and process accounts payable
  • Prepare monthly financial reports/statements and analyze rent schedules
  • Record financial statements and prepare reports for site-level analysis
  • Coordinate with property managers to ensure financial compliance with all procedures
  • Evaluate and prepare annual budgets
  • Review expense ledgers and assist in recovery reconciliations
  • Assist with balance sheets and income statements reconciliations
  • Ensures compliance with all loan and bond documents
  • Assist with maintaining records of all account receivables
  • Analyze property level balance sheets and cash flow statements
  • Assist with all trustee bond accounts and maintain integrity of all data
  • Participate in various acquisitions processes within required timeframe and ensure compliance to all internal controls and company policies
  • Evaluate balance sheet accounts and evaluate property activities
  • Provide support with the interpretation of complex documents for loans and agreements
  • Ensure compliance with all client requirements and provides support to asset management
  • Interface with building management and owner representatives on financial and operational issues
  • Review and analyze lease documents and understands their impact on the financial statements
  • Perform monthly capital commitment tracking and forecasting package
  • Coordinate with auditors or tax departments to aid with and respond to inquiries in an effective and timely manner
  • Partner with property teams to maximize synergy and quality financial information
  • Research and assist with technical accounting issues as necessary
  • Estimate the market value of assets
  • Present reports regarding estimation and evaluation of assets to the executive team and owners
  • Review the value of assets and work towards increasing their value
  • Prepare monthly financial statements using MRI and Yardi Accounting software
  • Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts and prepare supporting schedules
  • Review general ledger accounts and record monthly closing journal entries
  • Maintain depreciation schedules and capital expenditures
  • Trains staff on Yardi software and company accounting procedures
  • Conduct financial analysis and accounting for investment activity
  • Assist with individual, trust, foundation, partnership and corporate accounting and tax preparation
 
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business Management, and Administration preferred
  • 5+ years of property accounting experience
  • CPA required
  • Proficiency in Excel proficiency required
  • Yardi experience preferred
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong management and supervisory skills
  • Results-oriented and proactive
