Manager, Technical Accounting & Reporting
Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate changes to Accounting Standards Codifications (ASC), SEC regulations and regulatory reporting requirements, and communicate impact on the company’s financial reporting
  • Analyze, research and conclude on proposed company initiatives and completed transactions, preparing complex memorandums summarizing the impact
  • Liaise closely with external auditors and counsel on technical accounting and reporting issues
  • Manage and review the quarterly processes of variable interest entities (consolidations) and current expected credit losses (CECL) performed by other departments
  • Oversee the filing processes for specific SEC reporting requirements including the proxy statement and annual report, section 16 filings and 8-Ks
  • Assist with investor relations and external communications including earnings releases, presentations and correspondence with shareholders
  • Participate in review of potential transactions, SOX compliance, special projects and other ad-hoc requests

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Accounting or a related field
  • 4-6 years of relevant experience ideally in public accounting and/or focused in real estate or the mortgage industry; CPA preferred
  • SEC reporting experience is required
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and technical accounting skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience researching and documenting disclosure guidance and the accounting treatment of complex transactions
  • Experience in application of ASC 810 – Consolidations and ASC 326 – CECL a plus
  • Flexibility and willingness to pivot to new priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Hands-on with strong judgment, interpersonal skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Ability to coordinate projects within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage multiple initiatives
  • Ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite and hands-on exposure to accounting systems
