Job Description
Our client, a rapidly growing real estate developer, is seeking a full time Maintenance Technician to undertake the responsibility to preserve the good condition and functionality of a portfolio of properties.
This person will perform maintenance tasks of great variety such as painting, HVAC installations, landscaping, general repairs etc. This position requires a thorough professional with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly by observing all health and safety guidelines. The goal is to maintain the buildings and common areas in the best possible condition.
Responsibilities:
- Respond quickly in the event of an emergency, notify appropriate personnel and follow safety protocol
- Perform routine maintenance around the building including maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs, sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc)
- Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
- Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, repair screens, replace windows etc)
- Conduct general upkeep procedures (i.e landscaping, litter pickup) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
- Repairing broken or leaking plumbing to avoid water damage and restore full use of water fixtures
- Working on damaged electrical wiring when a shortage or severed wire occurs
- Maintaining the building HVAC equipment in order to keep climate control in the facility functioning properly
Qualifications & Required Skills:
- Proven experience as maintenance technician
- Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
- Demonstrating experience as a maintenance technician
- Physically capable of lifting 50lbs
- Strong understanding of general maintenance processes and methods
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers and small hand tools
- Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
