Affordable Housing Manager
The Affordable Housing Manager is responsible for all aspects of the Small Business Lending Program and for ensuring all regulatory requirements (local, State, and Federal) are adhered to in all facets of affordable housing compliance. The Affordable Housing Manager will work with existing and potential clients through every stage of the loan application process from loan inquiry through loan document review, due diligence, underwriting, credit memo issuance and loan committee approval.

Responsibilities
  • The Affordable Housing Manager should have knowledge of all real estate activities, including ground up development, refinancing and renovating existing properties, asset management, mergers, and acquisitions, while ensuring that all regulatory requirements (local, state, and federal) are adhered to in all facets of affordable housing compliance
  • Develop the ability to work with and assist clients throughout the loan application process for affordable housing
  • Review loan applications, create loan application packages, conduct due diligence and financial analysis, work with the underwriter to create credit memos.
  • Develop and implement a local lending strategy which responds to unmet needs in the housing and commercial market
  • Primary activities will include identifying project opportunities; vetting of projects and assessing financing needs; structuring creative financing solutions; providing technical assistance to current and prospective local borrowers; developing key relationships and partnerships.
  • Assist small business owners or real estate developers with technical assistance, business coaching and direct them to other small business resources.
  • Work collaboratively with the team on outreach and networking.
  • Work with the Chief Lending Officer to manage portfolio and loan administration matters and create plans of action for non-performing loans.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or commensurate experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge of affordable housing and all related compliance issues is required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, proven ability to manage competing demands.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including demonstrated experience with presenting in public, including on panels.
  • Proficient in Office 365- Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Valid driver’s license, access to a car, and willingness to periodically travel to various locations throughout the Hudson Valley.
