GSE Underwriter – Multifamily
A leading commercial real estate capital provider is seeking an experienced GSE Underwriter to join its multifamily underwriting team. This role focuses on underwriting Fannie Mae DUS and Freddie Mac Program Plus loans and supports transactions from initial screening through submission.
Responsibilities:
- Underwrite and structure multifamily loans under Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac programs
- Analyze pro forma income and expenses using GSE methodologies
- Review third-party reports (appraisals, engineering, environmental, seismic, O&M)
- Conduct site visits and assess property condition, management, and market dynamics
- Prepare concise underwriting narratives and maintain complete underwriting files
- Partner with production, asset management, and closing teams to support deal execution
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 3+ years of multifamily underwriting experience
- Experience independently underwriting 12+ GSE loans
- Strong knowledge of Fannie Mae DUS and Freddie Mac Program Plus programs
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
