Senior Accountant – Real Estate
The Senior Accountant will support a multi-entity property management platform, with a focus on bank reconciliations, treasury operations, and financial reporting across a portfolio of properties.
Responsibilities:
- Lead key aspects of the month-end close, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform high-volume bank reconciliations across operating, security deposit, and corporate accounts
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, ensuring accuracy and audit-ready documentation
- Manage treasury functions including cash positioning, intercompany transfers, ACH/wires, and banking controls
- Monitor liquidity and support cash flow forecasting across properties
- Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations (cash, deposits, prepaid expenses, accruals, intercompany)
- Analyze financial statements and perform variance analysis vs. budget and prior periods
- Partner with property management and operations teams to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Identify and implement process improvements across close, reconciliation, and treasury workflows
- Support internal/external audits and strengthen internal controls
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 2-6+ years of accounting experience, ideally within property management or real estate
- Strong experience with bank reconciliations, treasury management, and multi-entity environments
- Experience with systems such as Yardi, AppFolio, MRI, or RealPage
- Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical capabilities
