Job Description
FACILITIES MANAGER
(SAN FRANCISCO)
The ideal candidate will have 4-5 years of general facility maintenance experience and experience working in building maintenance primarily as it relates to warehouse maintenance and climate controlled space with strong technical knowledge as well as an understanding of workplace and personal safety on the job. This position reports out of the San Francisco facility, however they will be required to travel to other facilities as well.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintain the mechanical equipment, fire suppression systems, overhead doors, HVAC equipment, pumps, water filters, bathrooms, dock levelers, low voltage electrical systems, and general conditions.

Respond immediately to any equipment or facility-related breakdowns
-
Oversee access control systems and security cameras; maintain call lists.

Conduct regular fire/life safety drills for existing staff

Under the supervision of the General Manager, ensure all facility equipment is maintained according to the manufacturer's spec on a timely basis

Assist with scheduling third parties to ensure adherence to service contract requirements

Troubleshooting and repairs for various equipment

Troubleshoot and assist staff members and clients with various requests on a timely basis

Communicate the completion work orders to staff and vendors
-
In coordination with the General Manager assess extraordinary maintenance required for the property
-
Assist with procuring estimates and proposals from third parties
-
Monitor and track stock and materials required to service the building in adherence with the facilities budget
-
Relaying or repairing flooring as needed
-
Support all facility-related requests for internal and external events that take place on site
-
Schedule and assist any and all inspections related to the facility
-
Escort vendors and contractors working within the facilities
QUALIFICATIONS:

Team player, problem solver, able to work in a dynamic environment with a significant level of accountability
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear and concise details regarding building issues

The ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while ensuring the utmost attention to detail

Ability to make quick sound decisions

Team oriented with the ability to work across various departments

Certifications for fire watch, sprinkler standpipe, and fire pump are preferable
-
Occasional nights and weekends are required; a flexible schedule is preferable

On call availability

HVAC or Journeyman license and certification are preferred

Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Special projects as assigned by the manager

Ability to push and pull 140 pounds on a cart, as well as 45 pounds without mechanical aid

Ability to carry 42 pounds of varying size and shape up to a distance of 90 feet
-
Ability to stand walk, squat, bend, kneel, crouch, twist, and reach overhead
-
Ability to be exposed to outside weather conditions, including heat, cold rain, and snow
-
Ability to safely operate a forklift

Familiarity with the use of hand trucks, pallet jacks, jbars, dollies, and other necessary warehouse equipment
