Job Description
Director of Finance - Affordable Housing
Responsibilities:
- Strategic planning and financial forecasting, collaborating with internal stakeholders
- Fund accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, fixed assets, general ledger, financial statements, cost centers, chart of accounts & distribution
- Monthly financial reporting
- Revenue accounting operations, including deferred and expense allocations.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations, review and reconciliation of cash to accrual transactions, and bank statements.
- Oversee fund accounting, an overview of restrictions, monitor variance, and reconciliation.
- Develop & streamline process improvements, establish policies, processes, and internal controls.
- Lead any audits of our legal entities with external auditors, including overseeing the audit schedules & deliverables and developing & managing the documentation of all individual, business, foundation, donations, and government grants, financial records, and contracts, among others.
- Fixed asset accounting and analysis
- Oversee a team of five staff
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, accounting, or finance.
- 10+ years of real estate and/or not for profit accounting experience
- Proficiency in Yardi property management software.
- Affordable Housing, HUD, CRE Tax, and Property Accounting experience is a plus.
- Knowledge of budgeting, cash flow, and GAAP, CAS, and FASB compliance across multiple legal entities
- CPA a plus
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, as well as the analytical ability to develop and implement improvements, as needed
- Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.
