Job Description

Our client is a real estate investment firm focusing on prime commercial properties throughout the Greater LA area.


This role will report directly to the General Manager and play a key role in asset management of the company portfolio while also coordinating/managing third-party

service providers.


Responsibilities:

  • Attend monthly call with property operators and internal team.
  • Review operating budgets and capital improvement budgets, coordinating with third party property operators as well as internal investment and accounting team.
  • Review monthly financials and conduct budget variance analysis to identify opportunities for improving property performance.
  • Review annual property operating budgets and business plans to make recommendations where necessary.
  • Prepare variance reports, including notes and backup, for any variance within the general operating budget.
  • Provide support for data analysis including but not limited to financial analysis, property management operations analysis, and acquisition/disposition analysis.
  • Responsible for reviewing market and submarket data for the purpose of benchmarking across the portfolio and provide comps analysis as needed.
  • Conduct on-site property inspections and work with third party property operators and construction teams to ensure assets are maintained in peak physical condition.
  • Update financial models using key drivers, trend analysis, economic, and external factors.
  • Develop forecasting capabilities, including sensitivity analysis of operators’ and consolidated forecasts; and conduct preliminary feasibility studies for new investments.


Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum ten (10) years of experience managing hotel properties, with a thorough knowledge of financial, leasing, property management functions;
  • Strong financial modeling skills and analysis capabilities using Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to interface with business partners, lenders, and consultants.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage conflicting priorities in order to meet deadlines and job requirements.
  • Detail-oriented and a natural problem solver with the resolve to independently research problems and offer solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including effective presentation skills.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat.
  • CPA, CFA license or real estate qualifications highly preferred.
