We are looking for an experienced, hands on Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, budget and forecasts preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures.

  • Oversee/Maintain all accounting operations including cash management, billing, A/R and A/P
  • General ledger maintenance & journal entry preparation
  • Perform/Review bank reconciliations
  • Perform partner capital calls when necessary
  • Preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
  • Month-end and year-end close process
  • File 1099s and perform vendor maintenance (W9 reviews)
  • Coordinate with outside tax accountants for annual tax return preparation & tax projectionsProcess payroll / coordinate with third party processing companies
  • Human resources including maintenance of employee records, PTO, compensation history, and working with third party HR company to ensure compliance
  • Oversight of company 401k and pension plans / prepare benefits census / review 5500
  • Oversee insurance renewals
  • Prepare real estate tax protests
  • Review prospective leases / tenant fit outs for profitability
  • Review financials of potential tenants to evaluate security of payment
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
  • Administration of accounting software (Sage CRE)

  • Bachelor’ s Degree in Accounting
  • 6+ years in a progressive accounting function, prior controller experience strongly recommended, public accounting experience a plus
  • Experience with Sage (Timberline) or similar system such as Yardi/MRI preferred
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a can-do attitude
  • Ability to work in extremely fast paced environment
  • Ability to prioritize and multi task
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work independently with little oversight
  • Must have good working knowledge of Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
