Controller / Tax Director – Family Office

A family office in downtown Manhattan is seeking a Controller/Tax Director to carry out its accounting and financial reporting. The role will involve daily interaction with the founder/CEO with tremendous growth potential.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain records of entity formation agreements, trust documents, and investments
• Complete subscription agreements for third-party managers
• Tracking of inter-entity loans
• Work with outside accounting firms for tax preparation, including quarterly estimates
• Manage all wires
• Process capital calls
• Oversee all expenditures, including payroll for household staff and the family office and property management budgeting
• Identification of cost-saving opportunities
• Review business and personal insurance policies
• Cash Management
• Support the principal with special projects and workflow process improvements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Master’s of Taxation a plus
• 3+ years of HNW (High Net Worth) taxation experience within public and/or public/private accounting
• CPA required
• Trust & Estate experience strongly preferred
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Detail-oriented and an entrepreneurial self starter
