Controller - Real Estate Private Equity

Responsibilities:

• Generate and manage capital calls to investors.
• Liaise with auditors and tax accountants for funds and management company.
• Serve as point of contact for fund administration and compliance.
• Oversee the preparation of financial statements.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliation and account analysis.
• Manage the month-end close process, including account reconciliation and journal entries.
• Implement and maintain financial software systems to enhance reporting.
• Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and governmental accounting matters.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor cash flow and manage working capital to optimize financial performance.
• Prepare reports for leadership that provide insights into financial performance and operational efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to internal controls and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• CPA preferred.
• 5+ years of accounting experience within private equity real estate, public accounting experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of debits, credits, account reconciliation, and technical accounting principles.
• Proficiency in financial software applications and advanced Excel skills.
• Ability to analyze complex financial data and provide actionable insights.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
