Controller – Family Office

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Function as the right hand to the CFO
  • Design and maintain critical accounting tools for various assets
  • Define accounting policies, and support estate planning..
  • Manage financial records including the general ledger, accounts payable, bank accounts, etc.
  • Financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting
  • Function as the liaison to investment managers, outside counsel and external accountants
  • Review and assist with trust and estate, high net worth and partnership tax issues
  • Prepare work papers and analyses for the external accountants

 

Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting or a related field
  • 5+ years of accounting experience
  • Family Office experience is required; commercial real estate experience is a plus
  • CPA is a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Experience in building forecasting and investment models
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Team player, self-motivated and a proactive problem solver
  • Trustworthy with the ability to exercise discretion in handling sensitive information.
