Controller/CFO
Privately held investment and management firm is seeking an experienced, hands-on Controller / CFO to join its team. The organization maintains a diversified and expanding portfolio of assets across various sectors, including real estate and select operating businesses. The Controller/CFO will serve as a key member of the team, responsible for leading all financial strategy, accounting operations, and financial planning functions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in finance and accounting and thrive in a lean, entrepreneurial environment with a broad range of responsibilities across multiple business lines.
Responsibilities:
- Lead all financial, accounting, and operational functions across the organization
- Maintain and oversee general ledger systems
- Supervise Accounts Receivable / Accounts Payable
- Prepare and manage annual budgets and cash flow forecasts
- Review and oversee account reconciliations and financial controls
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting packages for ownership
- Support audit, tax, and compliance activities in collaboration with external partners
- Manage the day-to-day accounting and finance needs of the business
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA designation preferred
- 10+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, preferably within a real estate, family office or closely held business environment
- Prior experience in both public accounting and private/corporate settings preferred
- Experience with software such as Yardi, QuickBooks, and/or ERP systems
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with a lean team
