Job Description
Construction Superintendent
Responsibilities:
- Update the schedule daily.
- Inspect homes under construction daily for accuracy and quality. Report appropriate corrections to plans, specifications and vendor scopes of work
- Analyze the schedule for alternative means of cost efficiency, time savings and quality improvement.
- Resolve urgent issues in a timely manner.
- Update vendors on schedule requirements and/or changes.
- Check deliveries for accuracy and report overages and/or shortages to the estimating department.
- Return excess material for credit in a timely manner.
- Carry out quality control standards set forth by the company and supervise their implementation.
- Approve invoices and variance purchase order requests for payment each week and work with the appropriate department to eliminate those variances.
- Maintain a high degree of integrity and loyalty toward the company, all other departments and management.
- Evaluate vendor errors and issue back charges when necessary.
- Build a sense of teamwork among vendors and lead by example.
- Conduct homeowner and pre-drywall orientations with customers.
- Establish and maintain a high degree of workmanship quality in all finished homes
- Handle negative situations with a positive attitude at all times.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience as a residential construction superintendent
- Strong leadership skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to think creatively and strategically as well as develop and implement action plans
- Self-starter and able to work independently
- Able to prioritize and manage time effectively
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and possess a reliable and properly insured vehicle for company use (mileage reimbursement to be provided)
