Chief Operating Officer


Rapidly growing multifamily developer is seeking an experienced COO to serve as the strategic partner and second-in-command to the Founder/CEO. The COO will oversee all operational, financial, and organizational functions, ensuring the company scales efficiently and executes at an institutional level. This role will also represent the firm externally with investors, lenders, city officials, consultants, and strategic partners.


Responsibilities:


  • Translate the company’s vision into scalable business systems and operational excellence.
  • Lead executive decision-making and align development, financial, and organizational strategies.
  • Oversee all projects from acquisition through development, ensuring deals align with strategic and financial goals.
  • Build and lead a high-performing operations team with clear processes and accountability.
  • Partner with finance leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and capital deployment.
  • Represent the company externally in high-level meetings, investor presentations, and negotiations.
  • Implement organizational structures, reporting systems, and KPIs to drive efficiency and growth.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • 10+ years in senior operational leadership (COO, EVP, or equivalent) in real estate development firm (ideally $1B or larger).
  • Proven experience scaling organizations, building operational systems, and managing multi-project operations.
  • Strong financial acumen, including deal structuring, capital markets, and project economics.
  • Track record in acquisitions, development projects, joint ventures, and investor relations.
  • Exceptional leadership skills with experience building and mentoring high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to represent the company externally with authority.
  • Strategic thinker and execution-oriented problem solver.
