Bookkeeper - Real Estate

A prominent family office in New York City is seeking a full charge bookkeeper to oversee the accounting functions for a portfolio of residential and commercial properties.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for all corporate bookkeeping functions across a portfolio of residential and commercial properties.
• Manage A/R and A/P, check deposits, invoices, security deposits, cash management and monthly reconciliations.
• Register regulated apartments with the DHCR and file annual property registrations.
• Oversee insurance, employee payroll via ADP, union payments, fees and contract, employee benefits, health insurance
• Interface with banks, CPA firm, attorneys and other third parties as needed
• Special projects as needed

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred
• 4+ years of bookkeeping experience within real estate / property management
• Proficiency in either Yardi or Sage 300 / Timberline is required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Detail-oriented and organized
• Ability to work both independently and as a team
