Assistant Project Manager – Heavy Civil / Road Construction
A well-established heavy civil contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager with experience in heavy civil, roadway, or infrastructure construction to support a growing project team. The company specializes in large-scale public sitework, roadway, and civil construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Support Project Managers with project execution, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation.
- Assist with subcontractor/vendor pricing, procurement, and project buyout.
- Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project records.
- Review invoices, track costs, and assist with pay applications.
- Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in heavy civil, roadway, utility, or infrastructure construction required.
- Experience supporting public works or DOT-related projects preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; Bluebeam, B2W, HCSS, or similar software preferred.
- Construction Management degree preferred.
- OSHA 10 certification and valid driver’s license required.
