Assistant Project Manager – Heavy Civil / Road Construction


A well-established heavy civil contractor is seeking an Assistant Project Manager with experience in heavy civil, roadway, or infrastructure construction to support a growing project team. The company specializes in large-scale public sitework, roadway, and civil construction projects.


Responsibilities:


  • Support Project Managers with project execution, scheduling, budgeting, and documentation.
  • Assist with subcontractor/vendor pricing, procurement, and project buyout.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project records.
  • Review invoices, track costs, and assist with pay applications.
  • Coordinate with owners, engineers, subcontractors, and field teams.


Qualifications:


  • 2+ years of experience in heavy civil, roadway, utility, or infrastructure construction required.
  • Experience supporting public works or DOT-related projects preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; Bluebeam, B2W, HCSS, or similar software preferred.
  • Construction Management degree preferred.
  • OSHA 10 certification and valid driver’s license required.
