Accounts Receivable Specialist
Growing NY-based Property Management firm specializing in affordable housing is seeking an Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage and track all incoming property payments.
The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing and inputting all resident billing, payments and ledger inquiries as well as other incomes related to the property.
Responsibilities:
- Responsible for collection of rent and all cash on site including scanning of checks via Yardi and bank deposits as needed.
- Handle all resident billing, payment, and ledger inquiries.
- Enter all HAP share changes per agency documentation (HPD, NYCHA) on the tenant and HAP ledgers; adjust prior period billing based on share change effective dates.
- Track payments on all EIV repayment agreements.
- Communicate issues with on-site Property Management staff as well as the corporate office accounting team.
- Review aged receivables report regularly and follow up with residents on outstanding balances
- Properly maintain all resident and property files.
- Compute and record numerical data
- Verify the accuracy of business transactions
- Assist with special projects as needed
Qualifications:
- High School diploma OR GED; College Degree is preferred
- 2+ years’ of accounts receivable experience in the field of Property Management, including experience with Section 8
- Knowledgeable in and compliant with all local, state and federal regulations governing the property including landlord/tenant regulations;
- Knowledge of Fair Housing Guidelines
- Previous supervisory experience a plus
- Experience managing maintenance staff, a plus
- Understanding of annual certification
