Job Description
Accounting Manager
Responsibilities:
- Daily monitoring of on-line bank transactions, preparation & processing of remote check deposits and ACH payments, bank reconciliation, posting loan payments and interest.
- Record financial transactions in general ledger, generate reports and oversee books for three companies.
- Oversee and post bi-weekly payroll data to Paychex and QuickBooks.
- Collect and review weekly timesheets, prepare reports, and reconcile with payroll.
- Oversee 401K enrollment process, 401k compliance and payroll contributions.
- Coordinate benefits with HR, health insurance broker.
- Prepare monthly pre-billing time and expense reports, generate monthly invoices along with assistant bookkeeper who manages A/R.
- Manage A/P.
- Assist external CPA with preparation of books for quarterly review and year-end reports for tax returns.
- Monitor and develop internal controls to minimize financial risk and identify areas of opportunity to better safeguard assets.
- Supervise and build a strong accounting and office team to fit the needs of our company.
- Manage and perform other duties consistent with the roll of accounting professional.
Requirements:
- BS in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- 5+ years of accounting experience
- QuickBooks experience preferred
- Excel, Word, and Outlook proficiency
- Strong leadership and people skills
