Job Description

ACCOUNTING MANAGER - FAMILY OFFICE


Responsibilities:


  • Record and review all daily transactions into accounting software, ensuring that all investment transactions are properly captured
  • Monitoring all bank accounts and booking of cash transactions
  • Process/review accounts payable
  • Preparation of periodic financial reports – including cash analysis, cash flow statements and one-off investment reporting
  • Ad hoc requests/special projects
  • Record and review payroll transactions weekly
  • Reconcile operating bank accounts weekly and all other accounts monthly
  • Record and consolidate charitable transactions monthly
  • Prepare cash support and backup for quarterly cash reports
  • Record credit card transactions
  • Record and track valuable and capital improvements
  • Handle the billing and accounts receivable for a residential building in NYC
  • Process, record and classify all credit card activity
  • Management of quarterly tax filings and NYSIF audits
  • Process requests for annual compilations, reviews and audits from CPA firm
  • Process property billbacks
  • Manage & record daily transactions and recurring items
  • Bank reconciliations and account analysis
  • Personal and corp tax estimates, 
  • PTET online payments, dividend and distribution reconciliation from alternative investments.


Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Experience in handling all of the accounting and reporting functions
  • 5+ years of experience booking transactions and basic cash reconciliations
  • QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel proficiency PDF, general ledger/accounting software
  • Family office experience is a plus and is preferred
  • Ability to effectively prioritize competing demands
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills, problem solving, critical thinking, along with the ability to identify problems, design/articulate solutions, and implement change
  • Hands-on, organized and collaborative
  • Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality
  • Highly motivated, adaptable and responsible
