Accounting Associate
A well-established, mission-driven financial organization is seeking an Accounting Associate to join its finance team. The Accounting Associate will support the day-to-day operations of the finance department, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and strong internal controls across a variety of accounting functions.
Responsibilities:
- Update daily market values for investment accounts
- Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
- Manage the full accounts payable process, including invoice tracking and payment processing
- Initiate electronic payments and banking transactions
- Support grant and fund transfer processing, including electronic file uploads
- Assist with audit preparation (mid-year and year-end)
- Process incoming cash activity (wires, checks, credit cards)
- Maintain and track fixed assets and depreciation schedules
- Support account maintenance and closing processes
- Assist with reporting, administrative, and operational projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-3 years of general accounting experience, including general knowledge of investment operations
- Understanding of GAAP principles
- Strong Excel skills and comfort with financial systems
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
